Political commentator Hakob Badalyan wrote on his Facebook page.
"Why is Azerbaijan shooting at the metallurgical plant under construction in Yeraskh? Because it is Armenian-American?
Perhaps not. Rather, precisely because it is only formally Armenian-American, and in practice, as "Hetk" found out after the Minister of Economy's note about the factory, it is the investment of the daughter and son-in-law of Vazgen Sargsyan's brother, Armen Sargsyan, a US citizen. It involved some Indian businessmen.
This is not to say that the investment is wrong, of course. Any investment is essential for Armenia. There are simply investment programs, the benefit of which also implies a specific political "armor."
That's how I viewed the information about the investment myself before getting acquainted with the knowledge of "Hetk," when the composition and structure of the acquisition became clear.
Indeed, Azerbaijan would behave discreetly towards the American economic and political investment interest, not only in terms of not firing, but also in terms of the complaints they present against the construction of the factory.
By the way, it is also noteworthy that, at least so far, there has been no manifestation of US diplomatic interest in this relatively large volume of investment, which would be the "political" defense marking of the investment program.
In that sense, whether there will be a further reaction is interesting."
