Deputy of the Mejlis of Turkey Garo Paylan wrote on his Facebook page.
"Lachin Corridor, the only communication route connecting Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia, has been closed for more than two weeks by a group of Azerbaijanis who consider themselves "environmentalists" and the security officials of Azerbaijan. Due to the closure of the Lachin Corridor, the anxiety about providing basic needs such as food and medicine in Nagorno-Karabakh is gradually increasing. The 120 thousand Armenian population of Nagorno Karabakh is under siege. This blockade, which is turning into a humanitarian crisis, should be ended hours ago.
Turkey should not remain indifferent to this ever-increasing human distress in Nagorno-Karabakh. Political forces should take immediate action. I appeal to President Erdogan to take responsibility for ending the blockade of Nagorno Karabakh.
The establishment of peace in the Caucasus is in favor of Turkey. Let's all take responsibility for ending human suffering in Nagorno-Karabakh. We can return to a positive agenda in the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process and the Armenia-Turkey normalization process."
