If the war is frozen, then Russia accepts some rules of the US game

Political scientist Stepan Danielyan wrote on his Facebook page.

"Let's try to understand what is happening in Ukraine and how it will affect us. It is clear that without the surrender of Kherson, the war would not have been frozen because entire central Ukraine, up to Kyiv, transports goods to the Black Sea through the Dnieper, also within the country. By handing over the right bank of the Dnieper, Russia fulfills the demand of the USA and Ukraine to freeze the war; on the other hand, keeping the left bank of the river can stop navigation at any time, thus influencing the situation.

But let's leave this aside. Let's assume this hypothesis is correct, then what did the USA gain from the Ukrainian war?

- He isolated Europe from Russia, cheap Russian raw materials, and stopped the economic development of the EU, depriving it of the opportunity to compete with it.
- Depriving Europe of cheap Russian energy sources, it made it sit on its expensive gas needle, receiving super profits.
- A part of the European industry will be moved to the USA, thereby restoring the US industry.
- By building a barrier between Europe and Russia through Ukraine, the Baltic Sea, and Poland, it closes the vital land route for cheap cargo transportation of Chinese goods.
- He closed the Russian arms market, which was his competitor.
- Weakened Russia and narrowed Russia's sphere of influence.

One can continue to list the achievements. If the war is frozen, it should be assumed that Russia will accept some rules of the US game. There is a line that the US cannot cross by acting against nuclear power. Russia will have the rest of the territory of Ukraine, but the Russian economy has suffered heavy losses and will have a long way to go to recover.

Based on this assumption, it is necessary to think about the next steps for the USA. The next theater will be the Middle East. And the main target will be Iran, which is right in our region. It is necessary to understand what game will be played. Russia remains an essential player in the Caucasus, but the future role of Iran remains to be understood.

As for China, it is already a long and complicated game.

And what will happen to Ukraine? Ukraine is a victim of getting into someone else's game and being used. It loses some territories, enters into a deep post-war economic and moral crisis, and has significant population losses, part of which will continue to emigrate, part forever. That is the price of not knowing one's interests and having external orientations."
