Former RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan wrote on his Facebook page.
"Still in 2020, we were discussing the issue of tightening the procedure for organizing fireworks. In 2021 the initiative received the government's approval and was sent to the National Assembly. While understanding the economic interests of business people, I believe that, nevertheless, the free sale of fire products should be prohibited, as was envisaged by our proposed regulation.
According to the draft, fireworks would be allowed only in case of state and community events, and the free sale of fireworks was prohibited. Their free use violates public life and people's peace and often leads to physical injuries. Even these days, their use continues, provoking the anger of our fellow citizens.
I am sure that the ban on the free organization of fireworks should be established, and I urge our colleagues in the National Assembly to start implementing this initiative.
I express my condolences to the victims' relatives and wish the injured a speedy recovery."
