The Government of the Republic of Armenia reports that the Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity announced the 2026 laureates today.
“The Prize Committee highly appreciates the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan as a process of peace, dialogue, normalization of relations, and conflict resolution carried out by the two states. It emphasizes that reconciliation is not a one-time action but a continuous, consistent path.
Muhammad Abdelsalam, Secretary General of the Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity, emphasized Nikol Pashinyan’s continuous, consistent, and principled efforts to establish and strengthen peace. The Prize will be awarded to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in February in Abu Dhabi.
The 2026 laureates were selected by an independent, world-class judging panel composed of renowned figures and experts in dialogue and coexistence. The members of the Commission are: His Excellency Charles Michel, former President of the European Council and former Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium; His Excellency Moussa Faki Mahamat, former Chairperson of the African Union Commission and former Prime Minister of the Republic of Chad; His Eminence Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, Prefect of the Department of Culture and Education of the Holy See; Catherine Russell, Executive Director of UNICEF; Saida Mirziyoyeva, Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan; and His Excellency Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary General of the Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity.
