We have not heard from our compatriots since Friday; the situation is becoming worrisome. Sinanyan

The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Zareh Sinanyan, addressed the problems faced by Armenians living in Iran amid the protests. He warned that they have had no information since Friday and that they are currently unable to contact our compatriots in Iran. According to him, this situation is very worrying.

"When such an incident occurred during the 12-day war between Israel and Iran, we acquired a resource on the border, in Meghri, and we started receiving information through our compatriots crossing the border. Perhaps we should start doing the same thing in Meghri from today; otherwise, the information gap is very concerning. We do not have enough information to be able to talk about evacuation," he said.

According to Sinanyan, the final stage of the Hamas-Israel confrontation began in 2023. During the first 10 days of military operations, many Armenians were evacuated from Israel.

"As soon as we see that we have relevant information related to our compatriots in Iran that allows us to make this claim to the government, of course, we will do so.

But at the moment we are very worried because everything has escalated since Friday," he said.
