They discussed organizational and agenda issues of COP17

Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Armenia, H.E. Mr. Nikola Nikolov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the organizational and agenda issues of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17). The Minister noted that Armenia will consistently make every effort to ensure that the conference becomes an effective platform for making important decisions in environmental protection, as well as for strengthening priorities on the international agenda and developing strategic documents.

Other sectoral issues were also touched upon during the conversation. In particular, the opportunities for deepening cooperation in water resources management, exchange of experience within the framework of implementing climate policies, as well as joint initiatives and capacity development were discussed.

The expansion of bilateral partnership was emphasized, particularly in sustainable development, adaptation, and environmental protection.

At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their willingness to continue productive dialogue and to work together to promote mutually beneficial programs and ensure practical results.
