From road construction to energy: Important events of the Ministry of Transport and Communications in 2025

In 2025, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia achieved several vital milestones across road construction, energy, and educational infrastructure.

Thanks to work in the road sector, a total of 500 km of roads were renovated, reconstructed, and built. The ministry responded to Radar Armenia's written inquiry about this.

Progress has also been recorded in the energy sector. The Strategic Plan for the Development of the Energy System of the Republic of Armenia (until 2040) targets 1000 MW of solar capacity by 2030. As of December 1, 2025, the total capacity of solar plants connected to the energy system stood at 1062.8 MW, exceeding the target.

A significant development in air communications was Wizz Air's expansion of its operations. In October, the company expanded its operations in Armenia at Yerevan's Zvartnots and Gyumri airports, contributing to the launch of new routes and the activation of the aviation market.

Another significant event is the renovation, construction, and reconstruction of educational facilities under the "300 Schools, 500 Kindergartens" program. The program's implementation is ongoing and scheduled for completion in 2026.

The ministry also reported that 61.8 billion drams worth of subsidy work was implemented during 2025. Thanks to these targeted programs, community infrastructure is being improved, positively affecting the quality of life of communities and residents.
