Temperatures across Armenia will drop by 8-10 degrees. Surenyan

Gagik Surenyan, Deputy Director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, reported that in January, the average monthly air temperature is expected to be 1-2 degrees above normal, and precipitation will be within the normal range.

According to Surenyan, a slightly warmer-than-normal January with sufficient precipitation is expected. “A contrasting thermal background is predicted in January. In the first ten days of January, the country will be in the zone of influence of cold Arctic currents, especially between January 3-4.” During those days, the temperature throughout the republic will drop by 8-10 degrees.

“This current will remain until January 8 inclusive. In the second and third ten days of January, tropical warm currents penetrating from the southwest will predominate,” he noted.
