International wine tasting competition to be held in Armenia

The government adopted the draft approving the program of events for the "Concours Mondial de Brussels 2026" international wine tasting competition in the Republic of Armenia, among the unreported projects, at today's session.

The necessity of the decision is conditioned by the fact that the "Concours Mondial de Brussels 2026" is considered one of the largest and most prestigious wine tasting competitions in the world, with a 30-year history, and Georgia, Romania, and Moldova, along with Armenia, had also submitted a bid to host the competition in 2026. Assessing Armenia's rich winemaking and historical and cultural heritage, the growth of the sector in recent years, and its ability to organize international events, the competition organizers entrusted Armenia with holding the competition.

The implementation of the program will increase Armenia's international recognition and reputation, position the country as a safe and modern tourist destination, promote the development of cultural tourism, activate regional communities, and support the promotion and export of Armenian wines.
