Modernization of the state system is at the core of all our policies. Grigoryan

Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, together with the Head of the EU Delegation, Ambassador Vasilis Maragos, participated in the event to present the SIGMA project’s baseline assessment report on Armenia’s public governance and delivered a welcoming speech. The event was attended by representatives of the state system and heads of diplomatic missions and offices of international organizations in Armenia.

Mher Grigoryan emphasized the importance of publishing the report and thanked the entire development team, as well as representatives of the state system, for their significant contributions.

Despite numerous crises in recent years, Armenia has made significant progress in strategic management, digitalization of services, public finance management, anti-corruption efforts, and other areas of public governance. These records are also present in the report presented to you today. Our progress would not have been possible without the support of dedicated people working in the public sector and development partners,” noted Mher Grigoryan.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that, in the report, Armenia was assessed using the same methodology and criteria as countries in the process of EU integration.

“The modernization of the state system is at the core of all our policies, since without resilient institutions and a competitive public service we cannot effectively fulfill the promises made to our citizens,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

Mher Grigoryan announced that work to develop a new Public Administration Reform Strategy will be launched in the near future, based on the proposals in this report.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted continuous improvement in policy quality, the complete digitalization of services aligned with the highest cybersecurity standards, and the increase in the public service's attractiveness and competence as priorities.

Summing up his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed hope that we will once again walk this path of reforms together for the benefit of Armenia’s development and the well-being of society.

The event continued with thematic discussions.
