During the official visit, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, met with the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in Berlin. First, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the President of the Federal Republic of Germany met in private, and then the discussions continued in expanded formats.
Frank-Walter Steinmeier welcomed the official visit of Nikol Pashinyan and emphasized his country's readiness to develop relations with Armenia. The President of the Federal Republic of Germany expressed confidence that the Prime Minister's visit would provide new impetus to bilateral cooperation across all areas.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and noted that Germany is a key ally of Armenia at both the bilateral and EU partnership levels. According to the Prime Minister, the two countries share a common commitment to human rights, democracy, and the rule of law, and Armenia and Germany actively cooperate on bilateral and multilateral platforms. The Head of State added that Armenia is also interested in raising the partnership with Germany to a new level.
The interlocutors discussed issues on the bilateral relations agenda. They exchanged views on the further expansion of Armenia-EU cooperation. The interlocutors attached importance to hosting the European Political Community (EPC) Summit in Armenia and noted that it is an essential platform for political dialogue with Europe.
The establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, along with other regional issues, was also discussed.
