The Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia reports that the most critical stage in environmental protection for the Republic of Armenia has been launched: the official emblem of CoP17 has been unveiled.
The Yerevan blue butterfly, a Red Book-endemic species typical of the Armenian highlands, was selected as the basis for the emblem.
The visual identity of CoP17 is formed around the idea of the butterfly life cycle: egg, larva, pupa, and flight, which is identified with the continuity, diversity, and ability of natural systems to recover.
The butterfly's outline comprises 23 colors that align with the goals of the Global Framework for Biodiversity, with a primary blue that symbolizes the butterfly's identity.
The color scheme emphasizes the conference's primary focus: ensuring the sustainability and vitality of nature through action.
The slogan of CoP17, "Acting for Nature," reflects the current focus of environmental policy, calling for a shift from initiatives to targeted, coordinated action.
