On December 8, RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with Anoushirvan Bandpei, Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Tourism.
The prospects for cooperation between Armenia and Iran in the tourism sector were discussed, along with opportunities to increase tourist flows between the two countries.
“Armenia and Iran are long-standing friendly countries, and our cooperation in the tourism sector, especially in recent years, has a steadily developing dynamic. In 2024 alone, about 179 thousand tourists from Iran visited Armenia, and in January-November 2025, we have already recorded 166 thousand visits,” the minister noted.
They also exchanged views on several other issues aimed at developing the sector.
