EU High Representative Kaja Kallas announced that EU-Armenia cooperation is improving. “Today, we have adopted a new strategic agenda. This is a common ambition for the EU-Armenia partnership to work in many other areas,” she said.
“We support your reforms, which are also aimed at diversifying Armenia’s economy. We will also cooperate on visa liberalization and security. We will have a meeting with 27 foreign ministers in December. I invite you to that meeting. We will talk about Armenia’s resilience and election-related issues,” she said.
According to Kallas, “Today I am announcing 15 million euros, which will be directed towards peace and a more resilient Armenia. Several initiatives will be implemented, including demining training, and equipment will be provided.”
She noted that Armenia also faces other challenges: “Russia and its proxies are conducting disinformation campaigns in Armenia ahead of the parliamentary elections. "We see the same networks that were used in Moldova, very actively working in Moldova. So the scenario is the same. EU funding will help detect and respond to foreign influences," she said.
