Minister of High Technologies and Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan writes:

“Firebird has received a US export license and announced a technology partnership with Dell Technologies, strengthening Armenia’s position in the field of artificial intelligence and digital development.

The company issued an official statement on this, stating that the implementation of the project was made possible thanks to the support of the Armenian government, under the personal leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, with the support of US President Donald Trump and the participation of other stakeholders.”

The minister also issued an official statement:

“November 19, 2025 - San Francisco, Yerevan - Firebird, a US-based artificial intelligence (AI) cloud and infrastructure technology company, has received US export authorization and announces its first $500 million investment in Armenia. This is the initial phase of a multi-billion-dollar megaproject to bring high-performance AI supercomputing infrastructure to the region. This acquisition opens a new chapter in the US-Armenia partnership in advancing advanced technologies, innovation, and AI.

As previously announced by NVIDIA at the GTC conference in Paris, Firebird will create one of the most advanced AI clusters in the region, powered by Dell Technologies’ PowerEdge high-performance AI servers and NVIDIA Blackwell graphics processing units (GPUs). These GPUs will enable research institutions, technology companies, and enterprises to run modern AI models at scale.

The first phase of the project is scheduled to launch in the first half of 2026, positioning Armenia as a regional hub for AI innovation across a range of industries, with a focus on life sciences, robotics, and space technologies.

“Firebird’s future centers will deliver a robust and high-performance AI infrastructure built on the American technology chain and US standards to serve emerging markets.

“Our vision is to make advanced AI accessible to everyone for the common good. We are building the technology foundation that will enable engineers, researchers, and creatives everywhere to work with world-class tools,” said Razmik Hovakimyan, co-founder and CEO of Firebird. He added: “This investment is fundamental to shaping Armenia’s digital and AI future.”

Firebird co-founder Alexander Yesayan added, “We are laying the foundation for a modern digital and AI ecosystem in Armenia that can enhance local professional potential and attract global innovation. This is an important step for Armenia’s technological future.”

He added: “These efforts reflect the strong public-private partnership between the United States and Armenia and are a model of cooperation built on mutual trust and technological progress.”

This partnership has become a reality thanks to the support of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, under the personal leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and with the support of US President Donald Trump, as well as the active involvement of US Secretary of Commerce Howard Latnick and the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia. The joint efforts of the US Department of State, the US Embassy in the Republic of Armenia, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), the Armenian Ambassador to the US, and Enterprise Armenia have further strengthened this partnership.

These developments follow the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on an Innovative Bilateral Partnership in Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors between the US and Armenian governments in Washington on August 8, 2025, further deepening cooperation in technology, innovation, and secure trade. The Firebird initiative reflects the joint commitment of both countries to foster innovation, strengthen economic resilience, and advance technological progress.
