Within the framework of the 23rd Autumn Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, a bilateral meeting between the parliamentary delegations of Armenia and Azerbaijan took place in Istanbul on November 18.
It was held in accordance with the agreement reached between the Speakers of the Parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan during discussions held in Geneva on October 21.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized the positive role of the Washington Summit. They exchanged views on the agreements reached, the following steps aimed at strengthening peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the importance of parliamentary support for the process in both countries.
The role of parliaments in implementing confidence-building measures between the two countries was also touched upon. Both sides emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue between parliamentarians in international organizations.
