The "Crossroads of Peace" can become a new channel for India, Russia, and Europe. Papoyan

RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal in Visakhapatnam today. RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India Vahagn Afyan was also present at the meeting.

The opportunities for expanding economic relations and increasing trade turnover between Armenia and India were discussed. Among the areas of bilateral cooperation, the precious stones and jewelry sector was significant. In this context, Gevorg Papoyan presented to his counterpart the stable business environment created in Armenia, including tax privileges, competitive trade conditions, and customs advantages, which make Armenia an attractive destination for the production and export of precious jewelry.

Discussions were also held on the pharmaceutical, renewable energy, and tourism sectors, with a particular focus on the possibility of organizing direct flights.

During the meeting, Gevorg Papoyan proposed creating a joint working group between Armenia, India, and the GJEPC - the Indian Gemstones and Jewelry Export Promotion Council - to put existing opportunities for cooperation on a practical basis. The Minister also presented the "Crossroads of Peace" initiative, emphasizing that it could become a new channel of cooperation between India, Russia, and Europe.
