The visa liberalization process enters a vital phase.

On November 5, the high-ranking Armenian official responsible for visa liberalization dialogue issues, Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan, met with Johannes Luchner, Deputy Director-General for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission.

The Deputy Director-General for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission is in Armenia from November 5 to 6 to hand over the RA-EU Visa Liberalization Action Plan to the Armenian side.

According to Arpine Sargsyan, visa liberalization is a crucial stage in the Armenia-EU partnership, aimed at strengthening trust and cooperation with the EU. The Minister emphasized that Armenia views the Visa Liberalization Action Plan as a strategic document for reforms in the areas of citizens’ mobility and public security.

The main directions of the Action Plan were discussed during the meeting.

The EU representative highly appreciated the steps taken by Armenia towards visa liberalization and thanked Minister Sargsyan for the effective coordination of the process.

Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan emphasized that Armenia is committed to implementing reforms aimed at ensuring dignified and easy travel opportunities for its citizens to the European Union.

Currently, the Republic of Armenia is the only country with which the EU is conducting a visa liberalization process.
