A temporary ban has been imposed on exports from Armenia to the EAEU and third countries

Among the unreported projects at today's session, the government adopted a decision on the temporary ban on the transportation of several goods from Armenia to the EAEU member states and on the export to third countries.

According to the government decision, as early as July 3, the export of scrap and waste of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, specific products, as well as certain used products made of ferrous and non-ferrous metals (which have lost their suitability for use as primary products) was temporarily banned (for a period of 6 months). However, after the expiration of the export ban, this draft law establishes a new period of the export ban, effective from February 2, 2026 to August 2, 2026.

The decision will contribute to regulating the export process for ferrous and non-ferrous metals and create favorable conditions for supplying the domestic market with locally competitive metal products and for producing higher-value products.
