Among the unreported drafts at today's session, the government adopted a decision to amend the law on military service and the status of a serviceman.
The 24-month mandatory military service period will be reduced by 6 months, starting with the 2025 winter draft, to 18 months.
The adoption of the draft is expected to reduce expenses for organizing mandatory military service from the 2nd half of 2027, since the 18-month service period, starting from January 2026 within the framework of the 2025 winter draft, ends in July 2027.
