Leningradyan Street to be renamed after Kirk Kerkorian

The Yerevan City Council has decided to rename Leningradyan Street in the Ajapnyak and Malatia-Sebastia administrative districts after philanthropist Kirk Kerkorian.

It should be noted that Leningradyan Street starts from the Great Bridge of Hrazdan and ends at the intersection of Sebastia and G. Hasratyan streets.

Kirk Kerkorian was born on June 6, 1917, in Fresno, California, to a family of Armenian descent. He served as an Air Force pilot during World War II. He founded the investment company Tracinda Corporation and was a major shareholder in MGM Studios, MGM Grand, and Chrysler Corporation for many years. Kirk Kerkorian became actively involved in supporting Armenia after the 1988 Spitak earthquake. He died on June 15, 2015, at the age of 98, in Los Angeles, USA.
