An “unwelcome visitor” from outer space has appeared in the Australian desert. On Saturday, October 18, workers at a mine in Western Australia noticed a vast, still-smoking metal fragment on the side of the road. The incident has drawn the attention of both the police and the Australian Space Agency, which said it plans to conduct a “technical study to determine the origin of the fragment.”
According to preliminary data, the mysterious fragment is made of carbon fiber and is most likely part of a rocket. According to the information received, the fragment is space junk and may belong to the Chinese Jielong 3 (Smart Dragon 3) rocket.
Although there is still little information about the size and mass of the specific components of the Jielong 3, Langbroek is confident that this mysterious fragment is the most likely candidate for being the remains of a Chinese rocket.
