A meeting between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, and the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolini, took place.
The interlocutors highlighted the robust dialogue between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Holy See, expressing confidence in its ongoing development and strengthening. They noted that the relationship between Armenia and the Holy See rests not only on Christian values but also on shared historical and spiritual heritage and aligned perspectives on contemporary global challenges.
The Secretary of State of the Holy See expressed confidence that the accession of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV will further enhance bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Pashinyan reiterated it was an honor to attend the canonization of Archbishop Ignatius Maloyan, adding that his example illustrates that faith and courage can prevail even amid suffering.
During the meeting, the parties discussed efforts to establish peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and underscored the importance of resolving humanitarian issues. They also addressed a range of bilateral matters.
