The issue of the use of the expression “Zangezur Corridor” was discussed during the meeting between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, and the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in Copenhagen on October 2. Armenia reaffirms that the Azerbaijani President’s statement cannot in any way refer to the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
This was reported by the Spokesperson of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, responding to a written inquiry by “Armenpress”.
-The President of Azerbaijan again used the expression “Zangezur Corridor” in his speech at the meeting of the Organization of Turkic States in Gabala. What is your reaction, and was this topic discussed during the Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting in Copenhagen?
-Following the results of the meeting of the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan in Copenhagen, both sides issued a press release, from which it is evident that both sides accept that the TRIPP project relates to the territory of Armenia; therefore there is no other project on the territory of the Republic of Armenia, and there cannot be any.
The issue was, yes, discussed during the Copenhagen meeting, and we reaffirm that the statement of the President of Azerbaijan cannot in any way refer to the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
Only the TRIPP and “Crossroads of Peace” projects are being implemented in the Republic of Armenia, as clearly enshrined in several international documents.
