Wizz Air will operate flights from Yerevan to 16 destinations in 9 countries

Zvartnots International Airport reports that Wizz Air has officially established its base at Zvartnots Airport.

“Today, on October 1, the official opening ceremony of the base of the Hungarian airline Wizz Air took place at Zvartnots International Airport.

The event was attended by Roland Tischner, CEO of Wizz Air, Gevorg Papoyan, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Lusine Gevorgyan, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Marcelo Wende, Director of Armenia International Airports CJSC, and Sergey Avetisyan, General Manager, and other officials.
Two modern Airbus A321neo aircraft will be based at Zvartnots Airport, which, compared to previous generation aircraft, provides a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, as well as a 50% reduction in noise.

Starting today, the airline offers eight new destinations to Europe: Prague (launched), Hamburg (launched), Naples (launched), Paris Beauvais (from October 2), Paphos (from October 2), Bari (from October 26), Bucharest (from October 26), Memmingen (from October 28).

In total, Wizz Air will operate flights from Yerevan to 16 destinations in 9 countries.
