On September 23, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, hosted a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Atanas Zafirov. During the meeting, the parties highly appreciated the development of relations and partnership cooperation between the two countries.
Welcoming the members of the delegation, Minister Hayrapetyan emphasized the importance of Deputy Prime Minister Zafirov's visit to Armenia, noting that it contributes to the deepening of cooperation established in an atmosphere of mutual trust between the two countries. In his speech, the Minister presented the engineering and technological potential of Armenia, the support programs provided to the sector, the implemented reforms and educational initiatives aimed at the development of technological potential, and touched upon the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies, the "Armath" engineering laboratories, and the "Sevan Startup Summit". Mkhitar Hayrapetyan emphasized the progress recorded in the sector through the engineering educational programs implemented by the government.
Deputy Prime Minister Zafirov, in turn, highly appreciated the opportunities for expanding cooperation with Armenia, emphasizing the potential in the technological and educational sectors in particular. He shared his impressions of his visit to Armenia, presenting the results of his meetings with members of the Armenian government and his visit to Tumo as a vivid example of the strategic steps being taken to develop Armenia's innovative potential and technological generation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed potential areas of cooperation, including expanding the involvement of Bulgarian technology companies and deepening partnerships in the defense, green, and space technologies sectors. The possibilities of Armenia's participation in infrastructure projects implemented in the Black Sea region were also discussed.
Summarizing the meeting, the parties mutually emphasized the opportunities for organizing reciprocal visits, as well as the prospects for expanding cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats within the European Union framework.
