CONGRATULATIONS FROM HIS HOLINESS GAREGIN II, CATHOLICOS OF ALL ARMENIANS, ON THE OCCASION OF INDEPENDENCE DAY

On the occasion of Independence Day, from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, we bring our Patriarchal blessings and best wishes to all our people, in our homeland and in the Diaspora.

The re-establishment of independent statehood was a centuries-old cherished desire, which our people realized with collective will, with the aspiration to build their prosperous and peaceful life and live by national values.

Today, our country and people are facing difficult trials, post-war difficulties and hardships, as well as numerous external and internal challenges and problems.

Our responsibility towards the state cannot tolerate injustice, lawlessness, hatred, division, falsehood, or deceit. Still, it must lead our people to consensus and unity, so that we can find safe ways out of the current demanding situations. We must turn our love for the state into a zeal for revival, trust and care for each other, and commitment and dedication in every work and field. Independence Day is a message to remain faithful to the aspirations of national awakening, our values and sanctities, and to strengthen and build our state. Only in this way can we have hope and prospects for a peaceful and prosperous future, constantly asking the Almighty with the psalmist: “Remember us, O Lord, for the sake of Your people, and visit us with Your salvation” (Psalm 105:4).

We pray that God will grant peace to our homeland and grant our people the wisdom and guidance of His Holy Spirit to find strength and power with hope and faith to face the challenges and to cherish and cherish the glorious mystery of Independence Day from generation to generation.

May the mercy, grace, and blessing of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us and with all, amen.
