The US space agency NASA has officially banned Chinese citizens from participating in its programs, even if they have valid visas. The move comes amid growing competition between the US and China in the space industry.
According to Bloomberg News, several Chinese experts have been denied access to NASA's information systems and have been barred from attending meetings since September 5. Previously, Chinese citizens were permitted to work on research projects as contract specialists or students, but not as full-time employees.
The political decision was made amid harsh anti-China rhetoric from the Trump administration.
