Uruguay has always been a friendly country to Armenia. Deputy Minister

Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Artur Martirosyan attended the "Uruguay Tango Trío" event dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Uruguay's independence. The Ambassador of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay to the Republic of Armenia, Silvana Leska Barolin, and other officials also participated, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Artur Martirosyan congratulated the people and government of Uruguay on the 200th anniversary of the declaration of independence, wishing them peace and success.

"The Eastern Republic of Uruguay has been building its path for two centuries, based on universal values, human rights, and justice. Despite the geographical distance, Uruguay has always been a friendly country to Armenia. There is exceptional warmth and mutual respect between our two peoples.

The friendly ties between our peoples will continue to deepen, based on mutual respect and cultural dialogue.

"It is a great honor for us to celebrate this anniversary in Armenia, a country whose people know the value of independence and the difficulty of maintaining it perfectly.
It is also a great honor to host today's exceptional performers who unite the hearts of two peoples with their art, emphasizing the universal power of culture and music," he particularly noted.

Uruguayan-Armenian musician, pianist, and conductor Alvaro Hakobyan, tango singer Natalia Bolani, and bandoneonist and composer Nestor Vas performed at the event.

Events dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Uruguayan independence will be held from September 5 to 10, also covering the region of Armenia.
