On September 2, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Arpine Sargsyan, received the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, Kristina Kvien.
Minister Sargsyan welcomed the Ambassador and thanked her for the United States’ continued support for police reforms, emphasizing that this cooperation has yielded visible results.
Ambassador Kvien, in turn, thanked her for the warm welcome and noted that the United States highly appreciates the strategic relations established between Armenia and the United States. She emphasized the practical cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the US Embassy.
The parties emphasized the importance of the meetings in Washington on August 8, which have become the basis for new directions in the strategic cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the US.
During the meeting, new directions of cooperation and joint programs were discussed, including measures aimed at the development of the Patrol Service, the Criminal Police, the Police Guard, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs Educational Complex.
The parties also touched upon the steps to be taken towards the creation of a cyber laboratory and the training of Police Guard officers. Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
