A total lunar eclipse is expected

The Byurakan Observatory reports that on the night of September 7-8, Earth's inhabitants will witness a total lunar eclipse.

It will be visible from all regions of Armenia.

The eclipse will begin at 19:28 Yerevan time.

The Moon will be entirely covered by the Earth's shadow at 21:30, and the eclipse will reach its peak at 22:11.

It will completely end on September 8, at 00:55.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are arranged in such a way that the Moon appears entirely in the Earth's darkest shadow, the umbra. At that time, the Sun's light passes through the thickest layers of the Earth's atmosphere and, reaching the Moon, gives it a reddish-orange hue.
