The Yandex Go application has now become more convenient for moving around the city. Now, through the “Transport” service, users can track the movement of all ground public transport in Yerevan in real time. This will help to plan routes more effectively and calculate the waiting time for transport.

Thanks to this function, it is possible to see where the necessary bus or trolleybus is at the moment, avoiding long waits. By clicking on the stop sign, you can see the numbers of all routes passing through the specified stop and their approximate arrival time. Eighty-one routes are available for tracking: 64 bus lines, 12 minibuses, and 5 trolleybuses.

The function is also available in the “Transport” section of the Yandex Map application. To find the necessary route, you need to enter its number in the search field, for example, “trolleybus 2”. The route will be displayed on the screen, as well as a map of stops and schedules.

How it works

Yerevan buses, trolleybuses, and minibuses are equipped with special GPS devices that regularly transmit data about their location and speed. Based on the data received from the city, the service calculates the approximate arrival time of transport at each stop, taking into account several factors, such as the current road situation, route traffic data, and even road repair work. The received data is displayed in real time in the Yandex Go and Yandex Maps applications.

Such solutions are the key to building a smart city, where both residents and tourists can feel comfortable and confident. We are glad that Yandex Armenia became the first technology partner to support the initiative of the Yerevan Municipality to make the current public transport schedule available to citizens,” said Yerevan Deputy Mayor Suren Grigoryan.
