On August 16, at 08:31 local time (04:31 GMT), the seismological network of the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia recorded an earthquake of magnitude 3.5 at a depth of 10 km, 38 km east of the city of Tovuz, Azerbaijan, at geographical coordinates 41.01⁰ north latitude and 46.06⁰ east longitude.
The intensity of the tremor in the epicenter zone was 4-5 points.
The earthquake was felt in the villages of Voskevan, Artsvaberd, Nerkin Karmiraghbyur, Aygedzor, and Chinari of the Tavush region with a magnitude of 2-3 points.
