The “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO reports that due to the penetration of a tropical warm air wave from the south, a high thermal background is expected in the Ararat Valley, the foothills of Vayots Dzor, the Syunik valleys and Yerevan on August 7-8: +39...+41 degrees Celsius between 16:00 and 17:00. A high fire hazard situation is also expected in the mentioned areas, as well as in the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk in the coming 5 days.
In Yerevan, no precipitation is expected in the afternoon on August 8 and 12. On August 9-11, short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible in some parts of the city in the evening. During thunderstorms, wind gusts are expected to reach 14-18 m/s.
In the regions, short-term rain and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon of August 7, 9-12 in separate areas. On August 8, no precipitation is expected.
Wind: southwest 2-5 m/s, during the afternoon, wind speed is expected to increase to 17-20 m/s. On August 7-12, in the evening hours, wind speed is expected to increase to 15-18 m/s in Armavir, Kotayk, and Aragatsotn foothills.
The air temperature will gradually decrease by 4-6 degrees on the night of August 8-11, and by 2-4 degrees during August 9-11.
