Hambardzum Matevosyan received Natia Natsvlishvili

Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan received a delegation led by the Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to Armenia, Natia Natsvlishvili.

During the meeting, the long-term cooperation between the Ministry of Environment and UNDP, which has lasted for more than two decades, was discussed, as well as the implementation of current programs and upcoming initiatives.

It was noted that during these years, joint work has made a significant contribution to the fulfillment of Armenia's obligations under international environmental conventions, as well as contributed to the improvement of national legislation and management systems.

The parties discussed the progress of jointly implemented programs, ways to solve the identified problems, as well as the process of developing the Climate Law. The "Reducing Risks of Investments in Energy-Efficient Modernization of Buildings" program and possible ways to ensure its continuity were discussed separately.

The Minister presented to his colleagues the organizational work of the COP17 conference to be held in Armenia in 2026. Possible support from UNDP was discussed, including the provision of technical advice, searching for funding sources, and engaging potential experts.

In conclusion, it was emphasized that the Ministry of Environment and UNDP will continue their cooperation with the same enthusiasm, aiming to strengthen Armenia's positions in international environmental cooperation platforms.
