A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, the “Enotourism Council of Armenia” NGO, and the “Areni-1 Cave” Scientific Research Foundation.
The goal of the cooperation is to develop the application for the “Areni-1 Cave and the Associated Wine-Growing Landscape” of the Vayots Dzor region and its inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.
The memorandum was signed by Alfred Kocharyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Tigran Martirosyan, Executive Director of the “Enotourism Council of Armenia” NGO, and Boris Gasparyan, Acting Director of the “Areni-1 Cave” Scientific Research Foundation.
Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Alfred Kocharyan emphasized the importance of signing the memorandum of cooperation and noted that as a result of joint efforts, new monuments have been registered in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List after a gap of years, and this process should be continuous.
