EU Ambassador Vasilis Maragos today joined partners of the Resilient Syunik Team Europe initiative in the official opening ceremony of two significant infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening the resilience of the Tegh community in the Syunik region, the EU Office in Armenia reported.
A new 80 kWh solar photovoltaic plant has been built with the co-financing of the EU and the Austrian Development Agency. This plant will contribute to the use of sustainable energy and serve the needs of the Tegh community, including ensuring the energy supply of a modern irrigation system.
The commissioning of this irrigation system was made possible with Lithuania's support within the framework of the Resilient Syunik Team Europe initiative and thanks to investments from the United States, the United Nations Development Programme, and the Tegh Municipality.
The "Resilient Syunik Team Europe Initiative" is a joint initiative of the European Union, the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the EU Member States: Austria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, and partner Switzerland.
