More than 600 Chinese citizens evacuated from Iran to Armenia

More than 600 Chinese citizens have been evacuated from Iran to Armenia since the start of the Israel-Iran conflict.

The Chinese Embassy in Armenia informed Armenpress about this.

“As of the evening of June 18, more than 600 Chinese citizens have crossed from Iran to Armenia through the Agarak border checkpoint,” the embassy reported, answering the question of how many Chinese citizens have been evacuated from Iran through the territory of Armenia.

The Chinese Embassy in Iran called on Chinese citizens to leave on June 17. The diplomatic mission noted a risk that Iran’s land borders would be closed. The notice listed Armenia, Turkey, and Turkmenistan as possible exit routes.

India also evacuated a group of its citizens from Iran through Armenian territory. Ani Badalyan, a spokeswoman for the Armenian Foreign Ministry, reported that 110 Indian citizens were evacuated from Iran through Armenian territory.
