Possibilities for expanding Armenia-Iran cooperation discussed

During his working visit to Geneva, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan met with Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ahmad Meydari.

The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the UN Office in Geneva and other international organizations, Ambassador Hasmik Tolmajyan, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ruben Sargsyan, and Head of the Unified Social Service Eduard Petrosyan attended the meeting.

A number of issues of common interest in labor and social protection were discussed, and opportunities for expanding cooperation were considered.

The conversation's agenda included issues related to the protection of labor rights of persons with disabilities, development programs, cooperation with secondary vocational educational institutions, etc.

Minister Mkrtchyan discussed sectoral priorities and the work planned to address them; details were also presented on the services provided by the Unified Social Service.

At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their willingness to develop sectoral cooperation between the two countries.
