Thoughts were exchanged on cooperation within the framework of COP17

Within the annual Hamburg Sustainable Development Conference framework, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Abisoghomonyan, met with the Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-HABITAT), Anacláudia Rossbach.

The opportunities for expanding Armenia's involvement within the UN Human Settlements Program framework were discussed during the meeting. The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia emphasized prioritizing sustainable and green urban and rural development. In this context, the importance of exchanging experiences with the UN Human Settlements Program in transport infrastructure, engineering systems, energy-efficient housing construction, and the implementation of joint programs was emphasized.

The interlocutors exchanged views on 2026 and possible cooperation in the framework of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which will be held in Armenia.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia presented to his counterpart the Government's efforts to address the short—and medium-term problems of the forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh, emphasizing the importance of international support.
