"Having an independent state is the most important condition for the continuity of our history." Khachaturian

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan sent a message on Republic Day.

"Dear citizens of the Republic of Armenia,

Dear compatriots,

I warmly congratulate all of us on May 28, Republic Day.

On this day in 1918, the Armenian people reaffirmed their united will to establish the First Republic of Armenia and secure their place on the world's political map.

Despite its short existence, the First Republic had an invaluable impact on our national path. It became an experience in building independent statehood and support for the principles of freedom and sovereignty.

An independent state is essential for the continuity of our culture, language, identity, and history. The First Republic showed by its example that even in the most challenging situation, it is possible to establish statehood with one's strength. These values accompanied us to the establishment of the Third Republic, making May 28 a day of historical memory and a symbolic day uniting generations.

As 107 years ago, we face new challenges: security, political, social, and moral-psychological. The path to overcoming them lies through united work, sober and realistic thinking, public solidarity, and adherence to the values of democracy.

Education and science should be at the core of our development to guarantee long-term stability and progress. Each of our responsibilities before our state and generations is the driving force of our country's development.

Let May 28 once again remind us of the price of statehood and our responsibility for its preservation, for the benefit of the Republic of Armenia, and for the well-being of our people.

Happy Republic Day," the message says.
