We also celebrate Europe Day in Armenia. EU Ambassador

The European Union Office in Armenia has published a message from EU Ambassador Vassilis Maragos on Europe Day.

“On 9 May, we celebrate Europe Day, a day of European unity and peace worldwide.

Seventy-five years ago, in 1950, Europe consciously chose peace and reconciliation over conflict and division with the Schuman Declaration.  In this way, we decide the future over the past, peace over war, and unity over division.

Today, we continue to fight for our values, prosperity, freedom, and cooperation. The European Union is committed to peace, partnership, and collaboration in Europe and beyond. We are a principled and reliable partner in prosperity, security, and reform worldwide.

In Armenia, we also celebrate Europe Day. We celebrate our commitment to peace, democracy, and partnership. At the same time, we celebrate our cultural ties, as Armenian and European cultures are closely intertwined.

We are working on a new partnership agenda with Armenia. A dialogue on visa liberalization has also been launched, and the European Union will continue to support Armenia’s resilience, economy, and reforms. The relationship between the European Union and Armenia has never been closer. Their further strengthening depends on the work of both sides.

We also support peace and normalization in the region. The EU Civilian Monitoring Mission in Armenia is a testament to our strong commitment.

I congratulate everyone on Europe Day.

Happy Europe Day,” the message says.
