French Prime Minister Participates in Genocide Anniversary Ceremony

On April 24, a state ceremony dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide took place at the Esplanade of Armenia, located along the Seine River in the heart of Paris, with the participation of French Prime Minister François Bayrou.

At the start of the event, wreaths were laid in front of the statue of Komitas Vardapet in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide by Prime Minister François Bayrou, former Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, Armenian Ambassador to France Arman Khachatryan, Vice-President of the France-Armenia Friendship Group Hervé Marcel on behalf of Senate President Gérard Larcher, Co-Chairs of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations in France (CCAF) and other state and community figures.

Next, the CCAF co-chairs, Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo and Prime Minister François Bayrou delivered speeches to the French Armenian community.

Among the honored guests of the event were dozens of French officials: members of the French government, deputies, senators, members of regional and departmental councils, mayors, and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in France.

After the ceremony, a traditional procession took place, with the participation of numerous French-Armenians.
