The Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Artur Nahapetyan, received a delegation led by the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Armenia, Kristina Kvien. The delegation also included Zachary Barter, Director of the Office of Narcotics and Law Enforcement Cooperation (ONLC) of the US Embassy, and Christina Afoyan, Head of the Criminal Justice Reform Program at the ONLC.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the Anti-Corruption Committee's Chairman highly appreciated American partners' support in establishing and developing the Committee. He thanked them for their close cooperation in the fight against corruption, including their active involvement in replenishing the structure with trained personnel and modern equipment. The Chairman of the Committee particularly attached importance to the continuous support of the ONLC office aimed at developing the Anti-Corruption Committee's capabilities and improving its employees' professional knowledge. Noting that corruption crimes are transnational, Artur Nahapetyan emphasized the importance of the fight against corruption and international cooperation, including mutual legal assistance.
US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Kristina Kvien, thanking the newly appointed Chairman of the Committee for the warm welcome, emphasized that the American side truly values the already established effective partnership with the Anti-Corruption Committee.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee expressed hope that the directions and spheres of cooperation with the US Embassy will shortly expand, ensuring a new level of bilateral cooperation.
