RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guylain Nyembo Mbwizya, in the UAE.
Opportunities for expanding cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Democratic Republic of Congo were discussed, particularly in the strategic area of rough diamond supply.
In this context, Gevorg Papoyan emphasized that the Armenian side is particularly interested in discussing the possibilities of creating stable and predictable supply routes and the options of signing an intergovernmental agreement (G2G) that will provide a framework for long-term cooperation between Congolese and Armenian diamond miners.
“We are not looking for short-term profit but a stable and mutually beneficial partnership based on trust and common values,” Gevorg Papoyan noted.
The Minister also presented the “Crossroads of Peace” project, which can become essential to regional and broader economic cooperation.
