The head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Nelly Davtyan, reported that the second European expert mission's five-day visit to Armenia began today. According to her, two reports will be compiled due to the process.
"These documents will be the only basis for us to submit proposals or corrections. Based on them, the final action plan will be developed by June, which will no longer be negotiable. Having received the plan in June, Armenia will publish an annual report to reflect the implementation progress," Davtyan noted.
She also clarified that no deadline will be set for the plan. "For example, we will not be set a task to achieve specific indicators by the second half of 2027. When all the criteria are met, the transition to a free visa regime will also be implemented."
In response to the question about the timing of visa liberalization, Davtyan noted, "We must take into account that the process may take four to five years."
