Deputy Director of the Center for Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Gagik Surenyan announced during a press conference that the forecasts for March in Armenia have changed: precipitation will be less than normal, and the air temperature will be 3-4 degrees above the climatic norm.
"Very warm air currents have been penetrating our country from the regions of Iraq since today. In the next 10 days, our region, in general, the entire Caucasus, will be in the zone of influence of these warm currents, and we will continuously increase air temperature. On March 10, the daytime air temperature in the republic's mountainous regions—Shirak, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, Aragatsotn, and Vayots Dzor—will reach 11-16 degrees. In Lori, it will reach +16... +20 degrees; in Tavush, it will reach +20... +24 degrees; in Ararat, Armavir, and in the foothills of Vayots Dzor, the temperature of warm air will also reach +20... +24 degrees. In Syunik's valley zones, the temperature will be up to +26 degrees, and in the foothills, +18... +22 degrees," Surenyan noted.
In Yerevan, the temperature is expected to be +21 -... +23 degrees.
