The Republic, For the Republic, and European Parties of Armenia will run in the Gyumri local government elections in the European Alliance. Levon Barseghyan, the president of the Asparez journalistic club, will head the pre-election list.
The three parties signed a memorandum to run in an alliance in Gyumri, also introducing their candidate.
The president of the “Republic” party, Aram Sargsyan, noted that they started their steps from Gyumri during the European referendum. “It seems like a tradition is being formed. We succeeded then, too, and instead of 50,000, we collected 60,000 signatures.” He recalled that Levon Barseghyan was a Gyumri Council of Elders member and was familiar with the city’s issues. “A resident of Gyumri deserves to have a political candidate,” he said.
