Mkhitar Hayrapetyan met with the Director General of the UAE Space Agency

RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan met with Salem Al Qubaisi, Director General of the United Arab Emirates Space Agency, in Abu Dhabi on February 17.

During the meeting, Minister Hayrapetyan presented Armenia’s vision for the development of the space sector and the steps being taken in that direction. Salem Al Qubaisi, in turn, presented the experience of the formation and development of the UAE Space Agency, highlighting its achievements and major projects to be implemented.

The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation and reached an agreement on implementing joint programs aimed at developing space technologies and contributing to scientific and technological progress, which would benefit both states.

The importance of possible cooperation in the fields of scientific research and experimental developments, sectoral startups, and continued cooperation in line with the principles of the Artemis Agreement, aimed at the peaceful use of space and the development of innovative solutions to global challenges facing humanity, was particularly emphasized.

Gevorg Mantashyan, the Republic of Armenia's first deputy minister of high-tech industry; Karen Grigoryan, the Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the UAE; Fatma Alshamsi, the Director of Space Policy of the UAE Space Agency, and Hassan Alshehi, the Senior Specialist for Strategic Cooperation, also attended the meeting.
